15 things you need in your stylist bag.

Hey guys!

I heard some great reviews on my 'How to dress like a runway show dresser' so since you guys love a bit of 'how to' behind the scenes I thought i'd do a piece on how to pack your stylist bag!

A stylist bag is a handy tool to carry on photo shoots and will be vital when things go wrong. It's all about being overly prepared, so that if there is a malfunction of some sort it wont ruin your whole shoot. For example, a garment may be way over sized on the model, or wont sit properly, a model may not wear the correct underwear for a look or straps my break on a key piece.

Your Stylist bag should include:

1. Nipple covers ,incase your garments are too thin and the model has to go bra-less.
2. Bulldog clips or pegs, to take in clothes that are too big on the model.
3. Sewing kit, if something breaks you're going to need to be handy with a needle
4. Towel/Sheet, this is really handy if you're shooting in public so your model can get dressed discretely 5. Spare nude underwear, stick on bra and bandeau, sometimes models aren't prepared so you must be.
6. Safety pins and rubber bands, to hold things together.
7. Masking tape and scissors, for any shoe taping emergencies.
8. Static spray, to use on clingy fabric and Sticky rollers to get rid of hair or lint on clothes.
9. Pain killers, tissues, moisturiser and sanitary items, be prepared to save someones day!
10. Wet wipes and stain remover pens.
11. Body tape, it will bind things together or on your model and is safe on clothes.
12. Markers, so you can label where clothes are from once you've taken the tags off. (by writing on a piece of masking tape and sticking it near the tag)
13. OPTIONS!! Make sure you pack more than your planned outfits! Even if you don't use them they can come in handy!
14. Tissue paper, incase the shoes don't fit the model, you can stuff them.
15. Bobby pins and hair ties, because who doesn't need more of these.

Optional:
1. Straightener. (Incase the Hair stylists' breaks)
2. Hair spray.
3. Tagging gun, to re-tag clothes if needed.
4. Thongs, incase the model has her toes recently painted.
5. Paper towels and ziplock bags, for cleaning and storage.

I've seen plenty of items like these used even in a pre-prepared Studio shoots! It's a stylists job to be prepared for everything and if you have a pre-packed bag with the above items ready to go, you'll be prepared for any catastrophe.

If you know of any other items that have helped you out in a switch, leave them in the comments!

Until next time! xx
