Inspiration: Mens Fashion

Hey guys!
I've only ever had one opportunity to style mens fashion but i've had plenty of fun dressing male models and even though dressing boys seems as simple as a t-shirt and jeans and is much more limited in the shapes and colours it offers I find that it can be equally as fun (plus, male models? YUM!)

So here is some mens fashion inspiration! As you can tell i'm a complete sucker for a well tailored suit and bad ass leather jacket (I blame it on the Doctors and Dean Winchesters of the world!)

Nail Art Tutorial: Skittle nails

Hey guys! Today I took full advantage of Priceline's 40% off cosmetics sale by grabbing a whole bunch of fabulous nail polishes! To celebrate I thought i'd do a nail tutorial for Skittle nails, the easiest nail tutorial ever!

YOU WILL NEED:
Nail polish remover (If needed)
5 Rainbow coloured nail polishes
1 White nail art pen (And a steady hand or helpful friend!)

My Favourite nail products! This Nailene nail polish remover pot is a life saver! It's full of acetone and pink bristles. You literally put you finger in, let it soak for a second and then scrub your nail on the bristles. Getting rid of mass amounts of polish has never been easier!

I also use Sally Hansen's Insta Dry, to quicken the drying process (Also great for nail art when you use too much nail polish but need it to dry for the next step) and Sally Hansen Miracle nail hardener as a base coat since I have thin nails.

Before i removed my nail polish with Nailene
After i removed my nail polish with Nailene
Next are my colours! I used Essence nail colours, they're super bright and super cheap and decent quality. The nail pen is from Sportsgirl

Next I painted each nail a different colour (2 coats depending on colour and and constancy of the polish) I also had to change blues and ended up using a BYS cracking polish (hence why it looks so horrid!)
Next I drew on some S's with nail pen
Finish with a top coat and you're done!

I'd love to see your Skittle nails! feel free to link me in the comments below.

Until next time x.

The Weekly Wishlist: American Apparel

Today my adventures seemed to take me past the American Apparel store on Oxford Street in Sydney, even though I went inside knowing full well that I couldn't afford to buy anything, I still left with a heavy heart as I mentally racked up the biggest of wish lists!

Now, usually I keep the weekly wish list down to an easy and quick 3 items, but this week I had trouble containing my wants and desires! I'm a closet American Apparel fan, only ever splurging on their famous Mesh panel bodysuit and a pair of Disco pants (Which I wore through in one season due to improper washing!) I've always digged their basic and simple styles but never felt they were worth the price tag, now that i'm really invested in a more simpler style (or complete 90's revival, depends what catches my fancy!) I find myself sobbing quietly into my wallet when I contemplate pulling out the credit card and making a bad life choice.

Instead i'm going to share my favourite items with you guys in hopes one of you has a well paying job, I'm going to have to wait until the new year and hope I find a spectacular job to pay for my shopping habit.

American flag tee $28
I could buy ANYTHING with the US flag on it, I really dig me some red, white and blue! (Especially if Chris Evans is wearing it!)
Athletic contrast tee $34
I keep going on and on about it but I love LOVE LOVE sports luxe and this would look so cute with my leather shorts!
Basic crew neck tee $10
It took all my power not to demand the staff to take the last one of these tees down off the mannequin, i've always loved pink but this shade is DIVINE!

Colour block shorts $60 Colour block tee $28
Ok. So these shorts started my credit card temptation. Pastel. High waisted. I'm sold! And look! Cute matching top! I need these in my life, It's looking like a pastel summer!

Silver Shorts $34
I've been on the hunt for silver shorts. It's one of my weird obsessions that are pointless explaining and will probably look terrible on me!

Sunflower baby doll dress $54
Usually i'm a daisy person but i'm quite liking the colours of this sunflower print, since it'd being so widely ripped off i'm expecting to see it everywhere this summer in Sydney.

Sunflower overalls $88
I don't know what they're trying to portray with the (lack of) Styling in this photo, but weirdness aside, i'm going gaga for overalls. Can't stop. Won't stop.

*All prices are from the US American Apparel website.

What's your favourite piece from American Apparel right now?

Until next time x.

The Entertainment Catch Up: Gabrielle Aplin

Hey guys!

This week I thought i'd feature an artist i've recently discovered who, I think, has the most amazing of voices, Gabrielle Aplin!

My sister showed me the film clip for her song 'Please don't say you love me' and it was love at first opening riff. I've given her albums and EP's a listen and even though 'Please don't say you love me' is by far my favourite (The piano cover is soooooo great!) She has some really fantastic singles like 'Panic cord' and 'Keep on walking' that really make the records worth a purchase.

'Panic Cord'

I really love Gabrielle's sound, it's very sweet and calming and reminds me a lot of artists like Lisa Mitchell and a more serene version of Kate Nash, her melodies are flawless and she has some great catchy hooks to get you singing along (not that I ever need an excuse!)

'Please don't say you love me' original

With 'Please don't say you love me' being my favourite, I found myself being torn between what version I like more, after listening to both versions she's released i've noticed the original is a lot faster and boppy-er and does a good job of making the song seem pleasant, even though it is about how saying, 'I love you' too early can ruin a relationship. The song goes on to mention that even though she isn't ready to say, 'I love you' it doesn't mean she's no longer into you. While I totally get where she's coming from I think I prefer the piano cover of this song better as the lack of pace and instruments really focuses on the vulnerability of the lyrics, and I feel it changes the whole outlook on the song. You know me I love a sappy heartfelt love song! And I think the meaning of the song would of originated from a much more lonely bad fairy tale ending, and I think the Piano cover does a better job of showcasing that.

I hope this post has turned you into a Gabrielle Aplin fan! I'd love to hear what you think!

Until next time x.

The Weekday Wish List!

Get ready for this weeks weekday wish list! It seems no matter how hard a try, I can't seem to break my monochrome love! I swear I actually buy coloured things... occasionally...

On this weeks list is a combination of things I've just bought, things i've put on my Xmas list and items I could only dream of owning, so you know, the usual!

Nasty gal has a great collection of vintage Chanel (I died!) And I would LOVE to own this silk skirt and knit crop combo, now if only I could win the lottery!

I've asked for a men's Adidas tee for Xmas from my mum, I love oversized tops and it seems that wearing Sports brands mixed with high fashion is back in so i'm going to give it a try! Hello Spice girls revival!

Lastly, i've wanted a pair of white sandals since forever because I don't own any cute white shoes, I've been eyeing off these white Dupes of the Windsor Smith Lily Sandal for ages but was holding off buying them because they're literally just the white version on shoes I already own. But seeing as they were on sale at Dotti (Down to $35!!!) I couldn't resist and snapped up a pair today! White on white here I come!

Until next time x.

This Months shoot was also our first ever live Instagram shoot! meaning that our Instagram followers could follow the shoot while it was happening, hopefully brightening their dreary work day! you can check out the shoot on their Instagram Here

These Neon suits were so fun and bright, the Coral is from Billabong and the purple is from Roxy.

This super cute print is from Bombsell Bay, they're really bringing the fun to Summer!

Here is a bikini for Anna and Boy for General pants, I love that they mixed stripes with neon, it really stands out amongst the usually floral or beachy coloured swimsuits you see every summer.

I'm digging high waisted everything and it's such a great option for the beach if you're not comfortable in a barely there bikini! The red suit is from Wildfox and the white is Bikini Atoll.

Here's a close up of the Bikini Atoll 2 piece, such a great use of cutouts and it's so flattering on a tanned bod!

My favourite Swimsuit of the day! I go all mushy over a cute pink Gingham, and this Wildfox one piece didn't disappoint, even if the price tag did! It also looks super fab with these cute shades from Sportsgirl! Vintage style swimwear and accessories will be my favourite for this summer!

Here's the team celebrating with a paddle pop after a long tiring day of swimsuit modelling! I'm so classily crouched at the front in my hot pink jelly sandals #socool

Tell me what you think! Are you keen and ready for the Aussie summer?

Until next time x.
